 Job Title: Sales Consultant – Automation Services 

Position Type: Minimum wage plus commission

Work Arrangement: Remote, Part-Time Hours (Preference for candidates in the Greater Phoenix, AZ metro area) 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a Junior Sales Engineer to support the growth of our automation services practice. This position combines technical understanding with consultative selling and is designed for early-career professionals interested in technology-driven business solutions. The primary focus is identifying operational inefficiencies within client organizations and positioning automation services as measurable, ROI-driven improvements. 

This role operates at the intersection of business operations and technical delivery, helping translate client challenges into structured engagements such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow automation, AI-assisted process automation, and system integrations. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identify and engage prospective clients that can benefit from automation solutions 
  • Conduct discovery conversations to uncover process inefficiencies, manual workloads, and system gaps 
  • Communicate the financial and operational value of automation using metrics such as: 
  • Return on Investment (ROI) 
  • Cost reduction 
  • Productivity and throughput gains 
  • Collaborate with technical teams to shape viable solution approaches 
  • Assist in defining and presenting: 
  • POCs (Proof of Concept) to validate feasibility 
  • SOWs (Statements of Work) detailing scope, deliverables, timelines, and pricing 
  • Support proposal development and participate in client-facing presentations 
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline from initial contact through signed contract 
  • Represent the company at networking events, business associations, industry meetups, and local professional groups (highly encouraged) 
  • Develop long-term client relationships and identify expansion opportunities 

Required Knowledge & Skills 

  • Foundational understanding of: 
  • ROI (Return on Investment) 
  • SOW (Statement of Work) structures 
  • POC (Proof of Concept) engagements 
  • Ability to understand and discuss business processes, operational workflows, and system interactions 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Professional presence suitable for client-facing and networking environments 
  • Self-motivated, organized, and performance-driven 
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background or coursework in business, engineering, information systems, or related field 
  • Exposure to automation technologies, RPA, SaaS platforms, or process improvement methodologies 
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts and AI-enabled automation use cases 
  • Working knowledge or practical use of AI tools and models e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity
  • Other generative AI or decision-support systems 
  • Prior experience in sales, consulting, or customer-facing roles 
  • Located in or familiar with the Greater Phoenix, Arizona business environment 

Work Environment 

  • Fully remote role 
  • Flexible working hours 
  • Local candidates in the Phoenix metro area preferred for in-person networking and regional events 

Compensation Structure 

This is a performance-based commission role. 

Commission Tiers (Monthly Reset): 

  • Automation Services:
  • 5.5% commission on total signed contract value
  • Consultation Services:
  • 15% commission on total consultation value

Commission is on top of Arizona's minimum wage of $13.85/hour.
